shaft coupling is the safe and backless free connection that connects the drive shaft and drive shaft in order to transmit torque. The external clamping systems generate a backlash-free connection by pressing the connecting sleeve onto the shaft ends. WORKING PRINCIPLE:- Connect the hub solidly to shafts, using a keyless mechanical interference fit, to transmit torque or to withstand axial thrust. This mechanical interference fit is based on wedge base friction theory. By tightening screws clamp force is generated and due to taper geometry, the clamp force transmits force to another member in a radial direction which induced contact pressure to the hub. This pressure expands the Shaft Locking Device to eliminate the gap between the hub and the shaft. The Shaft Locking Device generates friction bonding between the Shaft Locking Device and the shaft/hub to create a zero backlash connection.
