locking assembly

Image
The main function of a   locking assembly   is the safe connection of a shaft to a hub using friction. For example, between a shaft and a gear hub. The locking assembly creates a play-free connection by expanding between the shaft and the hub. This type of connection is used mainly for transmitting torque. It is installed by inserting the locking assembly between the components and the subsequent tightening of the screws. By using conical surfaces, the outer diameter increases and the inner diameter reduces. Radial pressure is built up. The clamping forces are provided and controlled by the screws (force-controlled). This allows the direct compensation of the clearance between the shaft and the hub. locking assembly FEATURES & APPLICATIONS : High Durability against Reversing or Impacting Loads — Locking Assembly connection is not affected by torsional load reversal or impact, which damages the key and keyway connection. Locking Assembly fits tightly around the shaft/hub an...

Torque Nut

Image
“torque nut”   typically refers to a type of fastener or nut that is designed to provide a specific level of torque resistance when tightened. The right amount of torque must be used to securely fasten nuts to bolts or studs in a variety of mechanical and technical applications to avoid loosening or over-tightening, which could result in equipment failure or damage. Torque Nut 1. Control: Torque nuts are designed for precise torque control during fastening, ensuring that fasteners are tightened to the correct level. 2. Locking and Security Many torque nuts incorporate locking mechanisms or features that enhance the security of fastened connections. These mechanisms prevent loosening due to vibration or external forces, contributing to the overall stability and durability of the assembly. BENEFITS OF TORQUE NUT Uniformity: Torque specifications help maintain consistency in fastener tightness, ensuring that all connections are equally tight, and that load distribution is even. Preven...

Shaft Hub Connection

Shaft Coupling

Image
shaft coupling is the safe and backless free connection that connects the drive shaft and drive shaft to transmit torque. The external clamping systems generate a backlash-free connection by pressing the connecting sleeve onto the shaft ends. Shaft Coupling Shaft couplings play a crucial role in connecting two rotating shafts, allowing the transfer of power and torque between them. These mechanical components are vital in various industries, ensuring the seamless operation of machinery and equipment. In this article, we’ll explore the functions, types, and significance of shaft couplings. Shaft couplings are integral components in various machinery and equipment, including pumps, compressors, conveyors, and generators. They ensure the efficient transfer of power, contributing to the reliability and performance of these systems. Overrunning Clutch

Image
An  overrunning clutch , also known as a freewheel one-way clutch, is a mechanical device used to transmit rotational motion in one direction while allowing free rotation in the opposite direction. In this type of application, the different conditions of engagement and disengagement are repeated arbitrarily, when the Overrunning Clutch inner and outer races engage each other to transmit torque, and when the Overrunning Clutch continues overrunning through the difference in rotating speed and direction between the inner and outer races. This is the same behavior as a freewheel on the rear bicycle wheel. Overrunning Clutch Discover top-quality Overrunning Clutch and Freewheel Oneway Clutch at NMTG India. Explore our reliable clutch . BENEFITS : Switching is possible only by ON/OFF operation of the high-speed motor. Switching operation is also possible when driving is distributed to multiple shafts from the main motor. NMTG Cam clutch , are precisely constructed with a specially formed cam (retained with a spring) which lock positively inner and outer race by wedging effect and transmit torque in one direction. The typical transmission will give motion for rotary as well as intermittent. cam clutch The Cam clutches get automatically released (because of the change in the contact point due to the specially formed cam) and the unit becomes free (wheel) when the same race is rotated in the opposite direction, These Cam clutches, often provide the simplest and effective solutions for many applications, comparatively to clutches based on the ratchet and pawl type. Extensive range of cam, contact-free — Centrifugal lift of Cam clutches have wide selection options for unidirectional drive. taper lock

Image
taper lock taper lock  is a mechanical fastener used in a variety of machinery and equipment to securely connect two components, usually hubs and shafts & is designed to optimize torque flow and facilitate assembly and disassembly. CHARACTERISTICS Here are the key characteristics of Taper Locks: 1. Tapered Design for Interference Fit:  Taper Locks have a tapered shape that creates an interference fit when the hub and shaft are pressed together. This design ensures a secure and friction-based connection, allowing for efficient torque transmission. 2. Easy Installation and Reusability:  Taper Locks are relatively easy to install using simple tools like a wrench. Additionally, they can be assembled and disassembled multiple times without compromising their performance, making them suitable for applications that require frequent adjustments or maintenance. BENEFITS High Torque Transmission: Taper Locks provide a robust and secure connection between rotating compone...

Shrink Disc

Image
Shrink disc Shrink disc consists of either one or two thrust rings with tapered bores and a mating tapered inner ring. By tightening the screws the thrust rings are close together and compress the inner ring which generates the pressure on the hub and endeavors to clamp with the shaft and transmit the torque. Two-Part Shrink Disc — The stepped taper outer ring is pulled onto the stepped taper inner ring by tightening the clamping screws. A radial clamping force is generated by the taper surfaces, The radial clamping force presses the hollow shaft onto the shaft and creates a frictional bonded connection at the contact surfaces between the shaft and the hollow shaft. Thereby, torque / axial force can be transmitted between the shaft and the hollow shaft. Three-Part Shrink Disc — The front nut and rear nut are pulled together over the inner ring by tightening the clamping screws. A radial clamping force is generated by the taper surfaces. The radial clamping force presses the hollo...
